Summary of Key Responsibilities:

Under direction of the Event Services Division Manager, the Events Manager, Student Programming is responsible for the general execution and oversight of all student organization programming in the UCLA Student Union complexes. Provides cost estimates for event related services, ensuring that proper paperwork and authorizations are completed. Ensures maximum customer service delivery levels and adherence to established policies and procedures. Ensures accurate tracking and allocation of Student Union Event Fund. Assists with monitoring venue maintenance and equipment inventory. Develops and maintains open communication with the Student Organizations, Leadership & Engagement office and other University entities in addition to internal and external vendors as they relate to student organization events. Assists with budget preparation, and performs financial tracking and reconciliation for student group events. Assists in coordinating Division-wide programs and events. Develops and monitors events procedures and systems. Maintains department records/databases. Performs reporting/analysis of department activities. Recommends and implements new/enhanced policies and procedures. Hires, schedules, trains, evaluates, and counsels reservationist, sound technicians and event staff in all activities. Attends meetings on behalf of the Student Union Event Services Division Manager. Assists in other areas of the Division and performs special assignments as assigned. Hours include evenings and some weekends.

Qualifications:

Requires 2+ years related management experience in event planning. Experience must demonstrate effective: customer service skills; handling of multiple priorities and timelines; supervisory skills. Requires PC word processing/spreadsheet proficiency. Prior experience monitoring and reconciling budgets. Familiarity with the UCLA campus is preferred. Related BA/BS required or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Directly and indirectly supervises part-time/student staff. Frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, gripping, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Fingerprinting Background Verification required.
